Positions: Core Team and Speaker
Time Requirement: 2-4 Hours Per Week

Core Team

Attend Core team meetings (usually once every 2-3 months)

Brainstorm ideas for future series

Assign Core team member to coordinate/lead each series

Schedule the next 2-3 months worth of cornerstone series and leads for each

Brainstorm potential volunteer speakers

Administrative topics and issues/concerns/feedback

Reflect on the series assigned to you and come up with a flow/breakdown of topics for each Sunday within the series; think of reference verses and spiritual content to provide volunteer speakers; consider an overall theme, name/title, verse, etc. for the series

Recruiting volunteer speakers to give Cornerstone talks for the series assigned to you

Communicate with volunteers speakers the expectations and roles and responsibilities

Send email with series breakdown and reference materials to volunteer speakers and cc Core team and Nevine Mikhail (who will assist in creating poster/announcement/template slide for presentations)

Check-in with volunteer speaker the week before the talk to discuss their approach/content, offer help, answer questions, and confirm they will be ready

Provide Father James a catchy headline to describe the upcoming Cornerstone talk a week before, so that it can be included in the weekly announcement email and/or the Friday email that goes out to the congregation

Upload volunteer speaker presentation files onto the Church google drive

Responsible to start each Cornerstone session within a series assigned to you; this includes introducing the new series and introducing each volunteer speaker

Responsible to coordinate the flow of the Cornertone sessions on Sunday within a series assigned to you; this includes passing the microphones around, keeping track of time, support the speaker and participants during the session

Responsible to sort through any changes, conflicts, issues that arise during a series assigned to you

Seek feedback from participants and speakers on an ongoing basis to help improve the Cornerstone service

Offer support to others on the Core team as needed
Volunteer Speaker

Commit to prepare presentation content for the Cornerstone talk assigned to you

Stay in contact with designated Core team member; be proactive to review reference material provided, ask questions, check-in on approach or content

Follow instructions and guidelines provided in the email from designated Core team member; in particular use template slide if provided, send a copy of your presentation 1-3 days before your talk, and include interactive small group exercises to keep audience engaged during the session

Manage time during the session to avoid going too long (session should not go over 30 minutes)

If changes to your availability or issues arise, please be proactive and timely to communicate this to the designated Core team member as soon as possible and help find a solution
